The discharge potentials of graphite fluorides, (CF), and (C,F),, were almost the same at low current densities, but (CzF)n gave a higher discharge potential, by 0.3 -0.4 V, than (CF), with increasing current density. The discharge of the electrodes made by mixing (CF), and (C,F), showed that (C,F),

Fluorine-graphite intercalation compounds have been synthesized using high purity fluorine gas and high oxidation-state transition-metal fluorides, AgF, and NiF,, at room temperature and at -78Β°C. At room temperature, a mixture of stage 1+2-4 compounds with compositions, r&F to C,,,BF were obtained.
