## Abstract The soft coral __Litophyton viridis__ contains the already known nephtenol and a novel cembrane diterpene whose structure has been established as 2‐hydroxynephtenol. The absolute configuration of (‐)‐nephtenol has been demonstrated.

Abstract
The structure and absolute configuration of 2‐desoxylemnacarnol (IV) and 2‐desoxy‐12‐oxolemnacarnol (V), two novel sesquiterpenes isolated from soft corals of the genera Lemnalia and Paralemnalia were established by chemical correlation with lemnacarnol [II].
