✦ Synopsis

The effect upon the relaxational parameters of additions of NaCl and decane to Na heptylsulphate and hexylammonium Cl micellar solutions were investigated in order to elucidate the mechanism responsible for the relar ation.

Salt additions led to a lowering of the critical micelle concentration and the relaxation frequency. Decane addition had no noticeable effect on the relaxational parameters. These observations are consistent with a proposed relaxation model.
