When protein is irradiated by 7-rays from a "CO iource in various atmospheres such aa Nz, C ~Z , Hz, 0 2 , and NHS, the effect of the radiation varies with the gases composing the irradiation atmosphere. An empirical equation for the viscosity change was obtained.
