Abstract
The composition of the essential oil of the leaves of Lippia adoensis Hochst. ex Walp. growing in Nigeria was determined by the use of GC and GCβMS. The leaf essential oil of L. adoensis predominantly comprised monoterpenoids (83.5%), of which linalool (26.1%), geraniol (19.0%) and 1,8βcineole (17.4%) were the major constituents, while germacrene D (4.6%) was the main sesquiterpene identiο¬ed in the oil.
