The suberin constituents of Quercus suber and Betula pendula have been isolated after alkaline hydrolysis of the corks and over 80 % by weight identified using thin-layer chromatography, preparative thin-layer chromatography, gas-liquid chromatography and combined gas chromatography -mass spectromet
