This paper describes a method for predicting the subcellular localization, cellular role, and biological function of proteins based on the function of proteins with which they interact. Findings: This prediction method is most accurate when applied to large data sets in which the protein of interest has multiple 'neighbors' that are interconnected within an interaction map and whose interactions have been identified in multiple independent experiments.
