โœฆ Synopsis

The formation of micro/nanostructures that can be used for binding of specific biomolecules is of great importance for the development of multi-analyte biosensing devices and high-throughput microarrays. In this paper, we report on the chemical binding of biotin on an epoxy photolithographically patterned surface. In particular, we used a negative chemically amplified epoxy resist (EPR) in order to create very small structures by photolithography, in which biotin derivatives functionalized with succinimidyl ester or an amine group were immobilized through covalent bonding. Lithographic process with exposure at 248 nm was optimized, and structures with diameter down to 0.5 lm were demonstrated, where biomolecules were successfully bound.
