✦ Synopsis
Studies of the energy transfer reaction. Ar(3P6,2) + R-CO -CO(s3H) + Ar(lS6) L R. have been carried out in a fast flow apparatus by observing the-Cameron bands @II -XlC+) of carbon monoxide. Several reactants (R-CO= COP. COS. OCCLo. and HNCOI were investigated to find the best source of CO(a%I) nnd to ch&acterize tge CO(ZI~Q resulting from each Source. fhe energy transfer reaction of CO(a6H) with NO(X2iI)gnve strong y-and &band emissions. The y/j3 ratio from the CO(aSH) I NO(X%I) reaction was approximatelv a factor of 10 lower than the value found from the N2(~2c',, + NO(X*n) reaction. Also CO(a%j was found to excite the 6(3Pl) level of Hg.

## Abstract Matrix isolation experiments give evidence for the formation of the loosely bonded metal–silane complex M⋅SiH~4~ by the spontaneous reaction of Al or Ga atoms (M) with silane in a solid Ar matrix at 12 K; however, Ga~2~ appears to insert spontaneously into an SiH bond to form HGaGaSiH~
