## Abstract Fibroblasts can condense a hydrated collagen lattice to a tissue‐like structure. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of substrate adhesion on the contraction and mechanical properties of fibroblast populated collagen lattices. Bacteriological grade polystyrene (BGPS) pl
