✦ Synopsis

Limits ofapp|icability of a theoretical mode/which describes the ligation of cations in [: I complexes were determined by pH-titration and NMR. The influence of cations, when jointly present, on the calculated stability constants of systems containing rare earths of the yttrium sul:~rott~ Ca attd d~ ion_s, and car~or~ic acids (ace~ie~ ~ro~iottic, n-hu~yric~ 6ave 0Celt assessed. The influence on the chelation constants resulting from a coexistent cation appears to be a decrease of ca. 15-17% compared with the chelation constant due to a single separate cation.
