β¦ Synopsis
Simple, sensitive, and economical methods for the determination and solid phase extraction of metal ions using chelating resins in the past 25 years have been surveyed. Chelates immobilized or loaded onto polymeric matrix and the metal ions separated and determined together with references have been cited and are given in tabular form.

## Abstract A series of new chelate resins were synthesized by ringβopening polycondensation of the reaction mixture of furfural with diethanolamine, using sulfuric acid as a catalyst, and the resulting chelate resins were employed in the adsorption for metal ions Bi, In, Sn, V, Ga, Y, Ti, and Pb.
