After Debra and her Parakeet Chatty move in, she and new hires Laura, Penny, and Samantha quickly begin remodeling the place into a dual establishment. Named The Light, locals who enter here can dine at the Restaurant and stay a few nights at the Hotel.

With the grand opening looming Debra is implementing finishing touches when suddenly Chatty alerts her to a dead man in one of the bathrooms. It just so happens to be Elijah Brown, the property's previous owner! Clues which include nearby footprints suggest it was murder but who did it? Now Debra will have to call on one of her other talents, "sleuthing." If she wants to solve this mystery before officially opening for business.
