Charge transport and magnetic properties of the perovskites LaMnO,,,, as well as La,_,MnO,_,,Y,Z~+S with 0 5y IO.15

and LaMn,-,%,3,,2,+, with 0 5 z 5 0.10, have been studied as a function of the nonstoichiometry, 8, and a tentative magnetic phase diagram of the system LaMnO,,, is proposed. Depending on 6, magnetically inhomogeneous phases with either an antiferromagnetic or a ferromagnetic matrix phase are formed below the magnetic ordering temperature. For 6 2 0.14, a transition from localized to itinerant charge carriers is observed below T,.
