We report the preparation of almost phase pure (T10.sPbo.s)Sr2Ca2Cu3Og, which is characterized by high temperature superconductivity with T¢onset= 130 K, Tcmidpoint= 124 K, Tczero= 122.5 K as measured by electrical resistance, and a diamagnetic onset temperature, Tcm~ of 124 K determined by DC magne

✦ Synopsis
170 NMR measurements on (TI,Pb)Sr2Ca2Cu309_ 8 (Tc=124K) show that the Kmght shift of the outer two Cu-O planes (with pyramidal coordlnauon for copper) has a very different behavior to that of the inner plane (with square coordination for copper). The former has a larger magmtude and a weaker temperature dependence in the normal state, whereas the latter is smaller but has a stronger temperature dependence, tmplymg a nonhomogeneous charge distnbuUon and a weak interaction among the Cu-O layers. The results are compared with those for (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Olo. ~ (Te=107K) and Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3010 ~ (Tc=125K).
