✦ Synopsis


The degassing rates of the low activation martensitic steels BATMAN C and F82H were measured as a function of time and temperature. The electronic properties of F82H were measured using photoelectron spectroscopy and protium diffusion and trapping were mode/led for MANET II which has hydrogen interaction properties similar to F82H. BATMAN C has superior degassing properties with respect to F82H and on cooling of MANET II, most of the hydrogen remains trapped.
