## Abstract __The Rv3377c gene from the__ Mycobacterium tuberculosis __H37 genome is specifically limited to those__ Mycobacterium __species that cause tuberculosis. We have demonstrated that the gene product of Rv3377c is a diterpene cyclase that catalyzes the formation of tuberculosinol from gera

✦ Synopsis
Following a suggestion from Prof. (ETH-Hçnggerberg, Zürich) that Scheme 4 was incorrect, the authors carefully examined the relationship between the conformations of 5 and 7 and the NMR data (see Figure 1). They concluded that the assignments of 5 (6) and 7 (8) must be reversed; 3b-hydroxy derivative for 5 and 6, but 3a-hyroxy forms for 7 and 8.The authors apologize deeply for their mistakes.
