✦ Synopsis
A procedure was developed to characterize the chemical nature of silver salts or complexes deposited in body tissues. The solubility of silver-containing material in tissues from kidneys of rabbits treated topically with silver sulfadiazine cream was determined in various solvents. The presence of silver was detected by a microchemical test and atomic absorption analysis. The toxicological significance of such characterizations is also discussed.
