โฆ Synopsis
A simple method for the characterization of Bragg gratings in optical fibers is described. These reflective devices are accurately measured in real time using optical time domain reflectometry. The technique allows the evaluation of reflectivity down to y60 dB. Experimental results are exposed, and the technique is successfully applied to the real time measurement of the reflectance of Bragg gratings during their fabrication.
