Abstract

Orthorhombic hen egg‐white (HEW) lysozyme crystals were examined by means of synchrotron X‐ray topography by the white beam technique. Four kinds of straight dislocations were clearly observed. From the extinction criterion of the dislocation images, Burgers vectors were identified to be [001], [$ \bar 1 $10] and [0$ \bar 1 $1]. (Β© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Dislocations in monoclinic hen egg-white lysozyme crystals were investigated by means of synchrotron monochromatic-beam X-ray topography. The loop and curved dislocations were observed to be predominant in the crystals. Almost all the dislocations lay in (1 0 1 Β―) crystallographic plane, which corre
