✦ Synopsis
The asymmetric microstrip gap discontinuity with a cylindrical substrate᎐superstrate configuration is analyzed using a full-wa¨e spectral-domain approach. A combination of entire-domain tra¨eling-( ) wa¨e modes and piecewise sinusoidal PWS functions is used to model the strip currents near the gap in the moment-method computation. The frequency-dependent scattering parameters and the gap-equi¨alent admittances for se¨eral microstrip width ratios are presented and discussed. The effects of the superstrate on the transmission power losses and the gap-equi¨alent capacitances are also examined.
