✦ Synopsis
In a cellular mobile communication system, a service area is divided into many cells for efficient use of channels. It is necessary to take into consideration intercell vehcle movement for teletraffic performance evaluation of such cellular mobile communication system. Its performance evaluation has been done for a onedimensional band-shaped area, e.g., a highway, assuming that vehicle movement is one way. This paper presents a theoretical performance evaluation of a onedimensional band-shaped area, assuming two-way vehicle movement. First, whether steady-state performance for the traffic offered to each cell is constant is analyzed and then the transient characteristic for the case in which traffic varies with time is analyzed. Through a comparison of theoretical and simulation results, the validity of the theoretical result is demonstrated.
