β¦ Synopsis
A forced flow superfluid helium circulation system has been developed. Steady state temperature distribution and transient thermal propagation behaviour along the cooling channel have been investigated. The results are analysed on the basis of the energy equation using the Gorter-Mellink relation. Thermal oscillations that occurred in this system are analysed and suppressed successfully.

In this paper, the solution of transient mass, momentum and energy balances in superfluid helium are discussed by means of a finite element algorithm. A simple linearization procedure is used for the non-linear pseudo-diffusion term in the energy balance arising because of the unique counterflow hea
