โœฆ Synopsis

In order to determine the optimum compartment structure and operation conditions for electrodialysls, the hydraulic characteristics and mass transfer promoting ability of net-type (mesh) spacers inserted in a compartment we,re investigated. The relation between spacer structure and these two characteristics were examined in experiments through an electrochemical reaction of the redox system.

Burning rates of carbon spheres are measured in a 102 mm diameter bed fluidized in the turbulent regime. Results suggest carbon burns much faster than in a bubbling fluidized bed operating under otherwise similar conditions-excepting velocity. The enhanced burning rate is attributed to high mass tra
