Chapter 7: The Role of Metastasectomy for Soft Tissue Sarcoma Because soft tissue sarcomas most frequently metastasize to the lungs,'-4 surgical treatment for pulmonary metastases has been carried out for many years.5-7 Occasionally these metastases occur as isolated events or in a pattern that allows complete surgical removal of all detectable disease.
