β¦ Synopsis
The motion of a point mass on a spring with friction and with the condition of absolutely elastic impact against the arresting devices is investigated. The sufficient conditions for chaotic oscillations are derived analytically for the problem considered. The mechanism by which such oscillations arise is described.

We study direct and inverse problems that arise in the vibro-impact oscillations of a discrete system. Specifically, we examine a class of systems with two coordinates undergoing single-or double-sided impacts; however, the presented techniques are sufficiently general to apply to systems with multi
Novel digital circuits utilizing the chaotic oscillation and its associated oscillations produced in a Josephson junction (JJ) circuit are proposed, as an application of chaotic oscillations in JJ circuit. To begin with, what oscillation modes can be produced in a JJ circuit are described in detail.
Impacts in forced dynamic systems lead to non-smooth vibrations, showing a scenario of bifurcations. Mechanical and numerical modelling is known for rigid body systems with distinct points of contact. In contrast, continuous systems can have a line of possible contact. As an example a vibrating beam
