✦ Synopsis

A case study is presented in which the logistic map is shown to have anomalous, precision-dependent behavior. It is also demonstrated that using greater precision does not necessarily lead to greater accuracy and, in fact, the contrary can be true. Though the presention deals only with this particular map it illustrates that the actual math package being used should be examined and cannot be treated as a black box.
