The extended Ritz technique is used to study high frequency vibrations and waves in infinite homogeneous and laminated orthotropic plates. This technique utilizes exact expressions for the wave form along the extent of the plate, but models the plate's behavior through the thickness with a large num

โฆ Synopsis
The high-frequency limiting behaviour of the fundamental symmetric mode of plane wave propagation in a 12-layered fibre composite laminate is found to depend on the direction of travel relative to the fibre orientations of the layers. Plots are presented which show the variation of the component of displacement normal to the plane of the laminate at different orientations of the normal to the wave front. These plots exhibit the channelling of the disturbance into the layer with the lowest quasi-shear body wave speed at each orientation.

In this paper, a procedure is suggested to inversely determine the elastic constants of anisotropic laminated plates using a progressive neural network (NN). The surface displacement responses are used as the inputs for the NN model. The outputs of the NN are the elastic constants of anisotropic lam
