In a study of 28 patients with prostatic obstruction, an attempt was made to correlate bladder wall hypertrophy and hyperplasia with objective measurements of prostatic enlargement. Correlation could only be established between the cell and nuclear volume ratio of the bladder muscle and the average urine flow rate.
