โฆ Synopsis
I n a previoh publication ('51) I suggested that changes may occur in the long bones of deer during the period of growth of the antlers. At that time I had studied only one dry metatarsus of a fully adult male white-tailed deer (Odocoilem virgiHiaws) killed in August, 1949, during the period of antler growth. However, this bone showed significant histological changes and indicated that a more complete investigation of the problem was desirable.
