UPM/Kymmene is expanding its activities in France.
The subsidiary UPM/ Chapelles Darblay is to increase its deinking capacity from 200 000 t/a to 350 000 t/a, by building a third deinking line at the mill in, Grand Couronne. ABS pumps and agitators will be installed.
After completion of the new line, the mill will use 100 per cent deinked waste paper to produce newsprint. The investment cost will be FFr524 million.
The start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 1999. Engineering will be carried out by the Finnish company Jakko POyry.
