✦ Synopsis

Champion of Zenina opens with the yet-uncrowned Princess Plavina replacing her late mother Kerina. The treacherous Zadina has fled to her Temple where she is besieged by the people of Hemithea, demanding that she surrender herself for trial for the murder of the former Queen, her own sister Kerina. Against all expectation, Princess Marina is found to have survived the attack on herself and her mother. She swears to be Plavina's Champion. Marina staunchly supports her sister's rule, but Plavina must face other challenges. All proceeds relatively well, however, until Plavina's jealousy gets the better of her, and after an argument with Marina, banishes her sister to deal with a major epidemic on the planet Bellatrix. Champion of Zenina weaves the stories of Marina and her friends together as Marina must decide whether to take the throne herself.
