Production last year was reported as 60,000 tonnes, indicating an average operating rate of only 37.5%. According to 'TiWU', these four plants comprise: Chatrapur (operated by Indian Rare Earths); Chavara (Kerala Minerals & Metals); Edayar (Cochin Minerals & Rutile); and Sahupuram (DCW).
