their operation. Only under abnornlal conditions, caused by faulty construction, excessive gas flow, or improper adjustment of burner, did the CO become dangerous.
As a safety measure, a heater should not be allowed to burn in a closed room in which persons sleep, especially if the heater burns much gas and has no flue, unless one or more windows are open to supply plenty of fresh air. With this precaution, there should be no loss of life by CO poisoning.
