Abstract
A center‐fed circular ε‐negative zeroth‐order resonator antenna with a symmetrical omnidirectional radiation pattern is investigated numerically and experimentally in this article. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna is symmetrical. Furthermore, symmetry of radiation pattern, bandwidth and gain could be improved by adding unit‐cells and adjusting unit‐cell parameters. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
