## Abstract **Summary:** In this article we present some interesting properties of rodlike cellulose microcrystals (so‐called β€œwhiskers”). These microcrystals can be obtained from different cellulose sources such as wood, cotton, or animal origin. When submitted to acid hydrolysis, the cellulose fi
