✦ Synopsis

Assuming Michaelis-llenten kinetics for the synthesis of an initiator of replication, GI phase time is calculated. Supposing that intra-cellular inhibitor and extra-cellular growth factor control the cell growth, GI phase aging rate is calculated from enzyme, substrate, intra-cellular inhibitor and extra-cellular growth factor concentrations. According to different concentrations, cells can have short or large GI phase times which correspond either to cycling or resting cells. The protein production rate in GI phase cells is also calculated from chemical concentrations. Keywords. Cell kinetics, biochemical kinetics, GI phase time, cell growth control.
