WATER & WASTEWATER ADB FUNDS WATER PROJECTS IN CAMBODIA, NEPAL
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved US$34.6 million in loans and grants to aid the development of water infrastructure in the region.
The projects encompass a US$6.3 million loan to help improve sanitation and supply in seven provincial towns of Cambodia and a US$24 million loan for similar work in Nepal, as well as a US$4.3 million technical assistance grant to promote effective water management policies and practices.
The funding in Cambodia is in addition to an ADB loan of US$20 million approved in December 1999 to provide better living conditions for 350 000 people in seven towns. It has several subprojects, including upgrading water supply facilities, such as intakes, treatment plants and distribution networks, as well
