โฆ Synopsis
In my humble opinion, to make strong recommendations when CPR is involved-when the only alternative to the procedure is deathrisks "playing God."
We hope that our study will put to rest the idea that acutely ill patients do not want to make their own choices regarding end-of-life decisions, even the stark, existential question of whether to accept CPR. I think we can agree that we owe it to our patients to allow them an opportunity to make this most final of decisions. CPR-by-default is anathema to respecting patient autonomy.
