✦ Synopsis

The theories on the cationic polymerization of caprolactam, at temperatures above the melting point of the polymer, are compared and discussed. The results of fractionations and molecular weight distributions, carried out on polymers prepared with caprolactam hydrochloride as initiator under anhydrous conditions, are used as the basis of the discussion.
