Low-temperature boron trifluoride etherate initiated cyclization of o(-geraniol, d-nerol, and d-linalool leads to regioisomeric dimethylvinylcyclohexenes possessing a rare monoterpene carbon skeleton along with bicyclou.2.1]octyl fluoride. The cyclization mimics biosynthesis of tri-and tetracyclic diterpenes according to Wenkert.
