✦ Synopsis
In the crystal structure of {[Ag(BrO 3 )(C 10 H 8 N 2 )]Á2.5H 2 O} n , the Ag atom is coordinated by the N atoms of two different spacer donor ligands [AgÐN = 2.147 (2) and2.152 (2) A Ê , and NÐAgÐN = 172.0 (1) ], but is connected only weakly to the O atoms of two different bromate counter-ions [AgÐO = 2.877 (3) and 2.972 (3) A Ê , and OÐAgÐO = 162.3 (1) ]; the coordination geometry of the Ag atom is approximately planar. The (C 10 H 8 N 2 )Ag chains, which propagate along [101], are cross-linked in the b direction by bromate anions and AgÁ Á ÁAg [3.3197 (6) A Ê ] interactions, thus forming sheets.
