✦ Synopsis

In the title complex, [Mn(C~7~H~2~N~2~O~7~)(C~10~H~8~N~2~)]~n~, the Mn^II^ atom has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, defined by two N atoms from the 2,2′-bipyridine ligand and four O atoms from two 3,5-dinitrosalicylate dianions. One carboxylate O atom acts as a bridge between adjacent metal centres to form a one-dimensional chain. The Mn...Mn distance is 4.315 (6) Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen interactions.
