**CO‐poor hydrogen** can be produced by reforming oxygenates, such as ethylene glycol, in water over Pt catalysts. The expansion of the gas bubbles formed in the process by the vaporization of water results in a decrease in the partial pressures of H~2~ and CO~2~, thereby favoring the water–gas shif
