✦ Synopsis

Several chiral amino-alcohols induce asymmetry in the Baylis-Hillman condensation of aldehydes with methyl vinyl ketone. Pressure plays an interesting role in this reaction.

A model accounting for the pressure effect and ration&sing the observed absolute stereochemistry is discussed.
