✦ Synopsis

Overview: There are two types of human beings in the world: enchanters and mortals. Enchanters practice magic and live for hundreds of years, mortals do neither. Together these two groups, alike only in appearance, live side by side, suspicious and uninformed about the other, vying for command of a world both feel belongs to them. Killian Cramer is an enchanter who doesn’t feel like he belongs anywhere. At three years old he is named as a gift in a peace treaty and sent away from his family to live with strangers who abhor him. He grows up neglected, insecure, and unaware of his awesome potential as an enchanter. A chance encounter with a mortal brings him in contact with the person who cast Killian out of his home so many years before. Family secrets are revealed and Killian learns that everything he believed about his life and himself is wrong. As the truth is uncovered a series of events throws the enchanters’ world into chaos and Killian finds himself at the center of their fight for survival.
