โฆ Synopsis
Brandy Crawford was under the care of Blade Badgett, M.D., for her pregnancy. Dr. Badgett consulted with Dr. Schlinke regarding Ms. Crawford's care. Dr. Schlinke had never examined Ms. Crawford, never agreed to provide care for her, and did not review her chart, although Dr. Badgett advised him of her condition and medical history. There was no relationship between Dr. Badgett and Dr. Schlinke other than a friend asking another for advice. Dr. Schlinke advised Dr. Badgett that he should deliver Ms. Crawford prior to term, which he did.
Shelby Jennings was born on November 21, 2003, and was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to treat her respiratory distress due to her prematurity. While she was in the NICU, the nurses allegedly caused her to develop vertebral osteomyelitis, which resulted in permanent injury.
