✦ Synopsis

Transient CARS spectroscopy has been used to study the Raman-active vI (symmetric C-D stretch) vibration-rotation band of CD, radicals formed by gas phase laser photolysis of azomethane-d,.

The following spectroscopic constants have been deduced: bandorigin=2157.5cm-',~=-0.026cm-',AC=-0.018cm-~,andX,,=-5cm-'.

## Abstract We report on mode‐selective single‐beam coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering spectroscopy of gas‐phase molecules. Binary phase shaping (BPS) is used to produce single‐mode excitation of O~2~, N~2~, and CO~2~ vibrational modes in ambient air and gas‐phase mixtures, with high‐contrast re

## Abstract Coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) spectroscopy of gas‐phase CO~2~ is demonstrated using a single femtosecond (fs) laser beam. A shaped ultrashort laser pulse with a transform‐limited temporal width of ∼7 fs and spectral bandwidth of ∼225 nm (∼3500 cm^−1^) is employed for simu
