Das bei der Einwirkung von Bromsuccinimid (NBS) auf β‐Carotin entstehende unbeständige Monobrom‐β‐carotin wurde, allerdings nicht rein, isoliert und zu Retro‐dehydro‐carotin, 4‐Hydroxy‐β‐carotin und 4‐Äthoxy‐β‐carotin umgesetzt.
