Aneurysms of the extra-cranial carotid arteries are rare' and such aneurysms due to a giant cell type of arteritis have not so far, to our knowledge, been described2s3; apart from mention of an arteriographic finding in a single patient in a personal communication3. We report the clinical and pathological findings in such a case.
